How to Make a Princess Peach Costume | Cosplay Guide

Looking to create your own Princess Peach cosplay from Super Mario Bros, Super Smash Bros, The Mario Movie, or any of the dozens of other media she's been in? Worry not as we've got your back.

We know how daunting planning a cosplay can be, so let us take some of the guesswork out by giving you a layer-by-layer breakdown with resources, references, and ideas along the way.

Without any further delay let's dive into the costume of Princess Peach. We'll start at the top and work our way down.

Crown

Peach's crown is one of her most iconic accessories and luckily it's quite easy to make or source. For a quick and easy grab-and-go option consider Nintendo's official Peach accessory kit which includes her brooch as well.

For our DIY enthusiasts, the crown can also be made out of EVA foam or 3D printed. For EVA foam, cut a piece of 4mm thick foam in a rectangular shape with pointed edges on the top. From there you can glue it to itself in a cylindrical shape and add detail with foam clay, more EVA foam, or any other materials you have on hand.

Wig

Cosplayers worldwide use Arda Wigs and it's for a good reason. Their wigs are thick, have a great colour range, and they have a vast selection of styles. Here's a link to their long wigs, which is only a fraction of their entire selection: https://arda-wigs.com/collections/classic-long-wigs.

With some styling, any long blonde wig can become a hairdo fit for a princess. This Youtube tutorial goes over 8bit_neko's experience using an Arda wig with added wefts.

Dress

Peach's dress can initially seem very daunting, but with a little help and some layer-by-layer breakdowns it's actually quite easy! I offer a Peachy Princess Dress Pattern in sizes XS-3X that you can print at home and get started sewing almost instantly.

My pattern is based on her Super Smash Bros design, but can be modified for any Peach look!

Shoes

Since Peach wears a ballgown, one of the best parts is that nobody sees her feet. Feel free to forgo the heels and wear some comfy sneakers, you deserve the comfort.

However for full accuracy, a pair of pink, white, or blue heels will do the trick.

These are easy to find in your closet or at your local thrift store. Just make sure that you break them in before the convention, your feet will thank you!

And with that, we've broken down every layer of Princess Peach’s costume. Hopefully, this guide was helpful and we can't wait to see you rock this costume for Halloween, Comicon, or whatever event awaits!
